INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE MORPHOSEDIMENTARY DYNAMICS OF GRAVEL-BED LOWLAND RIVERS – 19-22 JANUARY 2027
The International Conference on the Morphosedimentary Dynamics of gravel-bed lowland rivers, “Anthropogenic impacts and scales of morphological adjustments” will be held in Thiais (France) from 19 to 22 January 2027.
The programme includes 4 keynotes and 6 thematic sessions.
Keynotes:
- G. Rixhon (University of Strasbourg) – Accurate dating of Quaternary fluvial archives is critical: disentangling the timing and drivers of river incision and landscape evolution across NW European river systems;
- A.J. Rollet (University of Rennes 2) – Restoration of low-enery rivers;
- D. Sear (Southampton University) – Structure and dynamics of chalk rivers;
- E. Wohl (Utah State University) – Biophysical interactions in gravel-bed river corridors.
Conference sessions include:
- Quaternary lowland gravel-bed rivers: climate forcing at different time-scales;
- Modes of alluvial plain construction and estimation of texture and volume of alluvial deposits;
- Hydrological and sedimentary connectivity between riverbed and floodplain;
- Bedload: fluxes, mobility, processes and metrology;
- Restoration/Rehabilitation;
- Urban and suburban rivers.
Deadline for submissions: June 30th, 2026.
