INQUA AWARDS – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE SIR NICHOLAS SHACKLETON MEDAL 2025
INQUA is pleased to announce the opening of the 2025 call for nominations for the Shackleton Medal. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of Quaternary science. We warmly invite you to nominate eligible individuals who embody excellence and leadership in this domain.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Sir Nicholas Shackleton Medal, awarded to an early-career researcher, typically under the age of 40, or—if older—within 8 years of completing their first PhD. Candidates may be working in any area of Quaternary science.
Each nomination must include the following documents:

A letter of recommendation from each nominator

The candidate’s curriculum vitae, including a list of publications

A brief statement outlining the candidate’s main contributions to Quaternary research
All documents must be compiled into a single PDF file and sent to the INQUA Secretariat (Aritina Haliuc) at the following address: info@inqua.org
The deadline for submitting nominations is October 1, 2025.
